Fence rules in Venetia
Venetia is in Washington County.
Permit
Peters Township requires a fence permit, and the application needs a plot plan or survey drawn to scale. Under the township's fee ordinance (Chapter 195, adopted December 22, 2025) the fence permit is a flat $55 for a fence, fence-like barrier, or retaining wall under four feet in height. Applications start in the township's online permit portal. If you are in an HOA, the township advises checking its rules or covenants before you apply.
Height limits
Height and setback limits sit in the township's zoning ordinance, which we could not read online. Call the Planning Department at 724-942-5005 before you design the fence.
Pool barrier
Pennsylvania pool barrier rules call for a barrier at least 48 inches high, measured on the side facing away from the pool, with a self-closing, self-latching gate that swings away from the pool. If the latch release is on the pool side it must be at least 54 inches off the ground. Municipalities can adopt their own changes, so confirm with yours. Read our pool fence guide.
